Ficlet meme from [info]siresin

I think this is a wonderful idea. Not that I haven't got lots of writing stuff on the go, but writing something *for* someone would be new and different. :) [1]

Oh, and knowing me I may be slack on writing the things. But I will try very, very hard not to be. *smile*

Leave a comment with a fanfic drabble request, pairing or character-based. Give me one line of dialogue to be written in a drabble/ficlet (100-500 words).

I shall be (very) brave and say that anything goes wrt character or pairing. Slash, femslash, het or gen. Request a character you know I don't like if you must. You may request a mood or rating if you wish, otherwise I'll pick. :)

Fandoms I am happy to attempt:

Angel (nothing post-S4 as I haven't seen S5 yet)
Austin Powers
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Daisy Pulls It Off
Framed
Gilbert and Sullivan (no Grand Duke, Sorcerer or Utopia as I don't know them well enough)
Harry Potter
Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
Jane Austen (anything extant)
The League of Gentlemen
Lord of the Rings (bookverse preferred, but will do movieverse if requested)
Middlemarch (George Eliot)
Peter Pan
Red Dwarf (nothing post-S6)
Shakespeare (any of the better-known plays, as they tend to be the ones that I know best too. Oh, other than "Antony and Cleopatra", which I've never warmed to.)
The Raj Quartet (Paul Scott)
The Stand
Three Sisters (Chekhov)
West Wing (nothing post-S3)

Crossovers between any of the above also permitted. As long as you're not seeking, you know, realism. :)

[1] Well, actually that's a lie. I still owe [info]kmazzy a Benjamin Denton/Papa Lazarou/Jack Sparrow fic, but that's going to be a long one and my League muse has been less active lately.

Okey-doke!

I'm not nearly as familiar with The Silmarillion so I'll need to do a little research for that.

But yup, can do! Yay, that sounds fun. :)

I can't believe that DPIO didn't make your list! :(

Eep! I clean forgot.

Okay, give me some nice light Daisy/Trixie, nothing hot'n'heavy (they are, of course, only fourteen!) including the line "Where's my nightie?" :)

Hm, yes, I have some ideas. And about 100 words so far. It'll be nearer 500 I think. *smile*

Ok then - how about some West Wing Donna and CJ steamy slashy goodness (CJ on top). CJ and Donna collide in the corridor and Donna spills the cup of coffee she was holding down CJ's front. CJ: "You're gonna have to come in here and help me clean this up!". Donna *really* has to make it up to CJ. ;-)

Hehe aaah they are so gorgeous... :-)

Though that really is the maximum prescribing material that is allowed. I asked for one quotation. Honestly!! ;)

I know but I wanted the slashy goodness! :-)

Captain Jack Sparrow and early Red Dwarf Cat when he was very much into his appearance, swapping fashion tips, possibly? :)

Hmmm I'm not sure I'm quite up for Jack Sparrow. Much as I adore him. It's been a while since I saw the film (hence its absence from the list) and I'm honestly not sure yet if I can write him (the other reason why I'm stalling on my story for Kathryn!)

Could you choose someone else? Thanks! *hug*

Oops, brainfart, I could have sworn I saw that on your list.. how weird. Sowwy.

Um. Cat and Hagrid, that well-known doyen of sartorial elegance? Hagrid likes animals though so it could be fun... :)

Predictably...
Either:

Richard III / Ratcliffe, hurt/comfort. "Ratcliffe, I fear, I fear..." (boringly canonical)

or

Richard III / Lady Anne, the wedding night. (I can't think of a line. What I really want is something along the lines of 'ha ha I'm really evil and dominant, but oh no you can't see me naked because I'm all deformed and stuff and you'll laugh at me but argh! I don't want to look vulnerable so now I'll have to be extra evil and dominant. You know the kind of thing.)

(Or both if you want to make me really happy!)

Shakespeare version, obviously, and nothing particularly out of character. Any rating.

I see you have plenty of requests already, so feel free to ignore this one, but perhaps Friar Lawrence perving creepily over Juliet?

Because I am such a crazy West Wing fan, I'm going to ask for J/S! :D I'm also rather bad at thinking up dialogue, so I'll just let you use your imagination...

(By the way, what's the difference between a drabble and a ficlet?)

Can I have some of your talent?

Yes please! Something involving Ford Prefect would be grinworthy. I don't know whether I'd rather see him with Arthur or Zaphod, so whichever floats your boat.. :):)

NB. No, I say, NO stressing about getting this done for me if you get snowed under or flopped in any way. You know I know what it's like.
[info]yvesilena wrote:

Crap, I didn't read it properly and didn't realise I was supposed to think of a line of dialogue. Can't think of one, but half the other ppl don't seem to have either.

I suppose there's the line from my dream: 'That's more suitable for a FAIRY GIRL!' Feel free to ignore that though, I'm only putting it b/c I can't think of anything.

I might have to take you up on that, but we'll see how it goes...

I was going to request Hitchhiker, but since Yves beat me to it, I beg for a Jane Austiny drabble set in Pride & Prejudice, no pairing specified or required, including the line "A badger?" Humor preferred. =)

I'm going to regret this, but:

Scott Evil from Austin Powers. In some kind of sticky situation, preferably a perverted one. Line of dialogue: "There's nothing about *this* in the Evil Overlord List!"

*grins*

Feel free to ignore this if you find yourself snowed under, btw. *hugs*

*snigger*

Yup, I think I do manage that. :)

It may take some time, given that there's quite a few here to do, but I do want to finish everyone's eventually (and any others that get requested!) I'm pretty much writing them all in the order in which inspiration strikes...

I think it's probably terribly obvious who I'm going to pair Scott up with if I decide to take this down the slash route. ;)

[info]thistlemeg wrote:

Okay. CJ/Sam is my guilty pleasure pairing because while canon doesn't do much for it, I like the concept and damnit, it's IC. Plus, they're the pretty ones. :D

"Did you know that the blue whale's heart is actually bigger than Toby's car?"

(Also. You should feel absolutely free to write something that is actually not very CJ/Sam at all. They can be pining for someone else, they can be pining for one another in a very marginal sort of way; you can be as sneaky as you want. :D)
[info]thistlemeg wrote:
Jul. 21st, 2004 10:29 pm (UTC)
Oh yes and: if you're swamped, you're swamped. This is all just for fun so if the inspiration never strikes you, don't bother. Stress is bad; inspired fanfic is good. :D
[info]mirabehn wrote:

Thank you. :)

As I've said to everyone: I am intending to write them all, and any others that get suggested. But it may be a wait, depending on when inspiration strikes and how much time and energy I have. *hug*
[info]mirabehn wrote:
Jul. 22nd, 2004 12:45 am (UTC)
*grin*

Can definitely manage that. And I *love* the suggested line! :)

(CJ/Sam definitely *not* in my unfavourite-couples list. I don't ship for or generally read any het couples in TWW (I know! boring really), but if I did it would probably be them... *smiles*)
[info]thistlemeg wrote:
Jul. 22nd, 2004 02:23 pm (UTC)
*grin* I figured as long as Sam was involved you'd be more or less happy.
[info]mirabehn wrote:

Not always the case, I think. I find something about Sam/Mallory terribly off-putting. Nothing against the woman but I just don't see any chemistry there at all...

But CJ/Sam - this I can do. I already have a couple of ideas, in fact. *smiles*
